It is hot here in the Pacific Northwest. VERY hot. It's currently 95F outside. When we woke up this morning, the girls and I took our showers and I got us ready to go to the store to buy a few things. By the time we left the house, 9:30am, it was already 75F outside. Yikes! And when we went to the store, they were all out of fans. Crazy. It was even on the news (the lack of fans), so I'm told.
We have an air conditioner (portable) that we bought last year, so we were all set. We have two portable air coolers, too. But the a/c is in the girls' room, so we've had to funnel the air out. We have a fan by the door to the girls room, and an air cooler further out. We had the other air cooler in the dining room facing the living room (we have a 900 sq ft apartment). I just moved all the fans to funnel the air from the girls' room and added more ice and cold water to one of the coolers, which has cooled things down in here significantly. I closed the other bedroom door and the bathroom door so the cool air isn't dispersed over areas we aren't in for the majorit of the day. We've camped out in the girls' room for the nights, obviously. We did the same thing last year.
It's hot, hot, hot outside. The problem is that it's not going to get any cooler until next week. Fun. I hate hot weather like this. Really. The girls are wearing their diapers. That's it. I'm in boxers and a sports bra. Not the most beautiful of sights, but who cares? It's heck-a hot outside!!! I wish there was some relief at night, but no. It's dipping down to about 70F tonight, and just a few degrees below that in the coming nights.
Even though it's cooler in here, it's still warm enough for me to not want my girls to climb up on me. Alethea doesn't seem to get this. And apparently it's not hot enough for her to stop being a bully to her sister. She's pushing Rayah down and being a little brat, disobedient. It's too hot to have to be disciplining her all the time, but I must, so she gets a fair amount of spankings. Wish she would be obedient. I know, it is wishful thinking, but I can't help it. Rayah's constantly crying to me and wanting me to pick her up, but she refuses to stop touching things on the desk. Very annoying.
She's crying for me to pick her up right now so I have to cut this post short. Wish me luck...
